The 1st Urban Landscapes Romania (ULR) Mission to The Netherlands was organized by the Coordinator and Local Liaison between 24-27 September 2019 with the support of the PIB ULR members and with the participation of 13 Romanian stakeholders (Romanian Government - Department for Sustainable Development, Oradea, Cluj-Napoca and Sector 3 Bucharest Municipalities, ALPAB, UAUIM, USAMV, ASOP and OAR Bucharest).
The programme of the mission was focused on activating urban landscape, river as part of the city life, urban regeneration, institutional cooperation models and public-private partnerships for sustainable development objectives.
The programme started on 24 September with a visit to JUB Holland, continued with a field visit of a Molter project in Noordwijk and other field visits of reference projects in Rotterdam (Centraal Station, Weena, Kruisplein, Vierhavenstrip) and ended up with a nice dinner at Ebben Inspyrium roofgarden in Cuijk.
The 2nd day, 25 September, started with a visit to Ebben Nurseries in Cuijk followed by a visit to Van den Berk Nurseries in St. Oedenrode and projects at Strijp S in Eindhoven - restructuring and greening of former industrial area of Philips.
On 26 September VIC Landscape organized a visit to Amersfoort for projects together with local architects.
Visiting the reference project: Renovation of a former industrial area in Amersfoort was a great success.
The day continued in Harderwijk where the group could visit some reference projects (city park project along highway - Crescent park) and meet the local authorities (Harderwijk Municipality).
On the last day, on 27 September the Romanian group visited the Botanical Garden in Leiden (Oradea Municipality and ALPAB together with ULR Coordinator).
